1. Hypothesis: Increase supply, not demand

   Is it possible that instead of trying to increase opportunities for people to spend crypto currency, instead if we increase opportunities for people to acquire crypto currency, then they (the people with FTC to spend) will do the 'hard' work of getting merchants to accept it?

   what I mean is, where do people get $ ? they earn it from jobs, mostly

   so that brings to mind "get employers to pay people in crypto" , well that seems like a bigger mountain to climb

   so I had another thought, what if retailers, whether online like newegg.com or B&M like Barnes and Noble were to offer the option of rebates in the form of crypto instead of $ ? or even in lieu of coupons, maybe a $.40 off coupon for Wonder Bread at Target was somehow tied to a crypto wallet, ie the check out person scans your coupon and then scans your QR code for your crypto wallet and you get the coupon face value rebated to you in FTC and you actually pay the face value in $ ?

   this would be another avenue for people to acquire crypto which they could then spend anywhere

   it seems a barrier to "normal people" spending crypto is them having it in the first place. there are only a few ways to get it, right? mine it, that isn't the way 'normal' people will get crypto. buy it on an exchange, that isn't super easy and some are concerned that exchanges will come under regulation from govt

   if retailers were the ones distributing the crypto/FTC to consumers, maybe that would solve a few problems at once

5. ASIC Proof (expanding on Tuck Fheman)

   With the idea on here suggesting implementing a Feathercoin miner into the client, this might be possible (not sure how possible because I don’t know the limitations of what can safely edited in the Feathercoin code) if the previous was accomplished.

   First of all, make the FTC client miner unable to recognize ASICs, so it can't even associate with the miner. Then, if it were possible, have the Feathercoin network jump between different algorithms. As of now, it's only Scrypt and Sha-256, but I would imagine there would be others equally efficient on the GPU that could be used as well. The thing is, since the proprietary miner is linked directly with the Feathercoin client, it will be able to know exactly when these jumps would be. Thus, it can auto-switch mining with one algorithm to another. I assume that if and once a combined miner/client is made, other miners such as ones used now will be irrelevant in terms of FTC mining, so this auto-switching would not apply to them.

   I imagine the switching would be based on a combination of random intervals and/or dramatic changes in hash rate (for example a 10% increase in hash rate within 5 minutes)? If the hash rate doesn't change within a time, it'll switch to another algorithm. If for an amount of time it still doesn't change much, then it will use those numbers for calculating difficulty. So difficulty would be what's calculated as average after any outliers due to ASICs jumping in during a compatible algorithm. It would also then change algorithms at random block intervals. Since ASIC miners would be on downtime during intervals where the network was using a different algorithm, it would make using ASICs much less profitable if they tried to mine Feathercoin and hopefully repel them from the network.

7. Allow client to be installed anywhere, including on a USB stick

   This is regarding the install and setup of client. A new option to allow you to install anywhere not just in C/ drive for the program but also the app/data folder and you can install this anywhere you want including a pen drive. This will give you more security over it so you can stick on your pen drive anywhere you go and plug in update blocks and network or take somewhere with you or have it as a easy mobile wallet

   Could be an automatic authentication service offered by other miners who leave their client open? The more successful transactions they Escrow, the more their reputation builds and the higher transactions they can process. Should take a long time to work up lots of transactions, unless their address is a known friendly address.

11. Suggestion to reward longterm miners?

    Not sure how this would work without changing the block rewards, but I feel it's decent enough to suggest and toy around with as an idea.

    What I think would be helpful in keeping miner loyalty is this: have a portion of the reward block (either increasing the amount per block, or decreasing the amount initially received).

    So for instance, a solo mined block takes 120 confirms to become available. What if let's say, 25%-50% of that found block takes 2016 confirms. This doesn't really apply to solo mining, since a solo miner can leave and still get confirms, more so pool mining. If a pool miner drops out before the confirms are done for certain period of time, he'll get much less of that percentage and what he would've received will be kind of a bonus to the loyal miners.

    The problem with this though, as I said, is that the block reward would have to be changed somehow. And secondly, issues with pools as well as the calculation for pools would have to be addressed.

15. Starter coins for newcomers

    Just something basic... instead of a faucet or a giveaway, would it be possible to have some of the transaction fees go towards an initial 3 or 5 FTC when someone downloads and installs a wallet? It's enough for someone to get started but not enough incentive for a person to download to every computer

    The issue though is preventing botnets and server managers from abusing it and making sure it's not linked to the wallet.dat since that can be erased and remade.

18. Optional User Tag for sending money

    I think it'd be convenient to have some sort of optional user tag. For example if my address label was [Aysyr], if someone was to send me some FTC, when they put in my address in their client, it would resolve that address to [Aysyr] and show it on their end. That way, it'll let you know you're sending it to the right person. I know even if I get the address right, I still sometimes get paranoid it's not going where it's supposed to be lol. This way it'll take off some of that uncertainty.
